Cats is finally making it to Thailand via the Asia Tour that is currently in Korea.
If you can trust my non-existant command of the Thai language, the show looks like it will play 14 shows in November at the Muang Thai Rachadalai Theatre, the Esplanade on Ratchadaphisek Road.
Here’s a video from a Thai TV station annoucing the show. Thai Ticketmaster will likely sell tickets.
I’ve uploaded a batch of images from “Musical Geschichte Produktionen Erfolge Die 56 Beliebesten Musicals” 1986 and a few from “Cats in Wien die Geschichte eines Erfolges” 1985 the Vienna directory of my Picasa account. They join a handful of other images that I had saved on the HDD. A personal favorite is of Steve Barton as Munkustrap. His make-up is especially clear in a photo with the (blurry) Rumpus Cat. Another neat image is Darryl Robinson as Munkustrap. He had originally played Alonzo / Rumpus in the Original Vienna Cast. Finally, there’s a rare costume sighting or two. The first is in an Old Deuteronomy photo–Vienna Etcetera. She looks like Bombalurina, but the costume and make-up are different than Bombalruina. The costume itself looks a bit like Electra from London with the dark crosshatching over a red body. The second rare costume sighting is in a Skimble photo–four background male characters have a good close-up shot–something that Viennese production is not known for having.
